Faith

How many of you actually saw the wind today? Not that many I'm sure. But how many of you saw the effects of the wind? Swaying trees, feeling it against your skin? Feeling the coolness? Seeing leaves float in the air?

We have all seen the effects of the wind. We know that wind is there.

It's the same with God. We can't always see Him but we can see Him moving. We feel Him. We see what He is doing. We just have to be looking.

Hebrews 11:1-3, "Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. For our ancestors won God’s approval by it. By faith we understand that the universe was created by God’s command, so that what is seen has been made from things that are not visible."

Matthew 14:27-31,
"When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost!” they said, and cried out in fear.
Immediately Jesus spoke to them. “Have courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s You,” Peter answered Him, “command me to come to You on the water.”
 “Come!” He said.
And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid. And beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”"

Do you have faith to walk on water? Do you focus on Jesus or on the storm around you? Do you trust God to catch you if you fall?

We need to step out in faith, keeping our eyes on Jesus and not on the storm.
