He's Alive!

Happy Easter!

Last week we covered Jesus' betrayal, trial, crucifixion, and death. But we can be joyful to know that that's not how it ended.

Luke 24 tells about Jesus' resurrection.

Picture this :
You are one of the women going to the tomb. You carry spices to prepare the body of Jesus, King of the world.
You shed silent tears as you walk along in silence with the other women, you can barely believe that Jesus had died.
But when you arrive at the tomb the stone covering it has been rolled away and Jesus was gone. Suddenly you and the others see two men in dazzling clothes. You are terrified and bow to the ground like the other women.
“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. “He is not here, but He has been resurrected! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?”
(Luke 24:5-7). Can you imagine it! You just find out Jesus is alive!
You remember their words and you all hurry to tell the Eleven.

~~~
Jesus conquered death. He defied it. He showed that He had power over life and death.
When the women told the disciples they didn't believe, but Peter and John (John 20:3-10) ran to the tomb. I love it because Peter, who had denied Jesus found Him alive. He was among the first to believe in Jesus' resurrection.
Jesus continues to reveal Himself to His disciples and to others.
My King and Savior, Christ Jesus, is alive today.
Hallelujah! Praise God!
