Palm Sunday

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday, which is when we celebrate Jesus's entry to Jerusalem.

There is so much in history's greatest week that I couldn't dream to capture it all.... so I'll try my best.

Luke 19:28-40 is the passage I will be writing about so I recommend reading it.

Picture this scene :
You have heard all about Jesus, the Nazarene. You have been waiting for a king to deliver you and your people, the Jews, from the Romans.
You quickly make your way through the crowd to try to get a glimpse of this king, who will save you.
You elbow your way through the throngs of people, trying to get a good view. Then you see Him, sitting on a donkey.
You cry out  "The King who comes in the name of the Lord is the blessed One. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heaven!"(Luke 19:38), you praise God and cast your robe on the dusty road in front of Jesus. You take a palm branch and wave it, continuously praising God.
You never imagined this being the Son of God.

````
Quite a picture isn't it? I can imagine being in Jerusalem that Passover week.
Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Now if you were riding into a city proclaiming war you would ride a horse. But Jesus rode a donkey, representing peace.
Jesus didn't come to Jerusalem to save them from the Romans. He came to do something bigger. He came to save all mankind from eternal separation from Him.
Later this week we will dive into Jesus' death and next week His resurrection.
Luke 19:28-40, 22:39-71, 23, 24:1-12 captures His arrival in Jerusalem, His betrayal, His trial, His beating, His death, and His resurrection.
Praise Jesus today.
